D1 (Work Visa)

If you have an employment contract, a promissory employment contract, or an expression of interest by the employer you should apply for the D1 Visa.

After successfully applying for the Visa, the applicant and their family members can enter Portugal and request a temporary residence permit in the country. Once approved, the residence permit is valid for 2 years and can be renewed for an additional 3 years. After 5 years, you can apply for Permanent Residency or Portuguese Citizenship if you meet all other requirements foreseen by the Portuguese Nationality Law.
