After a successful application for the Visa, the applicant and their family members can enter the country and request a temporary residence permit in Portugal. Once approved, the residence permit is valid for 2 years and can be renewed for an additional 3 years. After 5 years, you have the option to apply for Permanent Residency or even for Portuguese Citizenship if you meet all other requirements foreseen Portuguese nationality law.
